En professionel operatør eller en anden person, der har mistanke om eller får kendskab til forekomst af en EU-karantæneskadegører i planter, planteprodukter eller andre objekter, som denne har eller havde kontrol med, bør forpligtes til at underrette den kompetente myndighed om denne mistanke eller dette kendskab, til at træffe alle nødvendige foranstaltninger til at udrydde skadegøreren, tilbagetrække eller tilbagekalde de pågældende planter, planteprodukter eller andre objekter og til at underrette den kompetente myndighed, andre personer i handelskæden og offentligheden.

A professional operator or other person suspecting or becoming aware of the presence of a Union quarantine pest in a plant, plant product or other object which is or was under its control should be under an obligation to notify the competent authority of that suspicion or awareness, to take all measures that may be appropriate as regards the elimination of the pest and the withdrawal or recall of the plants, plant products or other objects concerned, and to provide to the competent authority, other persons in the trade chain and the public with information.
